Transparent methodology
Documented card facts first.
LoungeLife minimizes subjective inputs. We show the published bonus, spend requirement, annual fee, advertised credits and lounge network, then add a clearly labeled best-case dollar estimate.
1. Year 1 — best case
Welcome bonus benchmark value + full advertised annual credits + rewards on entered spending − first-year annual fee.
We do not assign a dollar value to lounge visits. The welcome bonus is counted only when the "Assume you achieve the signup spend" box is checked; the required spend and issuer deadline are still shown separately.
2. Keep / year
Full advertised recurring credits + spending rewards + anniversary points − annual fee.
Because the full credit amount is used, this is best read alongside the Easy / OK / Hard credit-difficulty label. The homepage Rank badge follows this Keep / year number; at -e ongoing spend, it effectively becomes advertised recurring credits + anniversary value − annual fee.
3. Credits: full amount, clear warning
LoungeLife does not reduce a $550 advertised credit package to an invented $429 personal value. We show $550 and separately flag whether capturing all $550 looks Easy, OK or Hard based on timing, merchant restrictions, minimum stays and other hoops.
4. Lounge access
We show the lounge network, access description and guest rule. We do not convert lounge visits into a made-up cash amount.
5. Point values
Dollar estimates use one fixed LoungeLife standard benchmark by rewards currency. The point or mile quantity itself is always displayed separately so users can focus on the documented offer.
Important: Card offers, fees, credits and access rules change. Best-case values are estimates, not issuer promises or financial advice. Always verify current issuer terms before applying.
